My hope is that, as my husband's business picks up over the next few years, we will have the funds to choose. We will see!

Before we moved here we had our daughter in a lutheran school though we are not lutheran. I loved it. We ended up going public here and I am having doubts.

The public schools in Springfield are amazing. I would never send my child anywhere else. I've taught at both public and private schools here. The thing about public schools is that the teachers receive amazing ongoing training in all the latest teaching techniques and technology. ... Plus, going public means you give your child the opportunity to become friends with all sorts of people, which is a lifelong gift I definitely want to give my child.

Moms are talking about what books they are reading. Check out the ones listed here and get more ideas online.

"The Magic of Reality" by Richard Dawkins.

-- SarahDipity

I'm reading (or getting ready to) "Unconfessed" by Yvette Christianse.

-- Mychelle

I just finished two books in the last couple weeks which is big for me. ... But I started "People are Unappealing: Even Me" by Sara Barron a few days ago and it is really funny. I like her candid nature and the way she writes.

I'm currently reading "There Are No Children Here" by Alex Kotlowitz.

-- HippieMama

"No Biking in the House: Without a Helmet." It was a random pick, nonfiction account about a woman who adopted several children. So far, it's pretty interesting.
